Good to meet you! My name is Josh and I have a passion for seeing small to midsize churches reach new people! I’m your instructor for the “DIY Church Website eCourse” so I’ll be the one walking you through each step of building your own church website on Squarespace. I have 10 years of church website design experience and I’m excited to share the best of what I know with you so your church can have a great website that attract new visitors.

COPY (THE WORDS ON YOUR WEBSITE)
You’ll provide your website copy. Many of our church partners clients write the copy themselves but we can also make recommendations if you’d like help with this step.
PHOTOS, VIDEOS
You’ll provide all the photography and videography for your website. We’re happy to optimize your photos for web use.

To build a website using Squarespace and this ecourse, a person should have at least moderate technical abilities. They don’t need to know how to code or use any kind of computer language, but they do need to have a somewhat intuitive ability to learn how to use a new digital system.

A person using our ecourse can have a wide range of creativity. The course comes with numerous template pages and sections that can be used “as is” or as a starting point. That said, if you’re church wants you to create something truly unique and highly creative, it would be good for the designer to have a higher creative abilities.

The course itself includes about 6-hours of training and is designed for you to create your website as you go. That said, you could create your website in as few as 20 hours (total) or as many as you want, depending on how many pages you create and how complex you decide to get. The average website build takes 30-40 hours and will be spaced out over 1-2 months.

Squarespace website hosting fees are dependent on the plan you choose and the payment schedule, but generally speaking your church will pay $23 per month, billed annually. Squarespace has excellent SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It contains both built in tools and per page advanced tools, so you can get as detailed as you want.
